From my point of view, I totally agree with the decision that the barber made for many reasons. I totally agree with this decision because he only wanted to do his job properly-to shave hib beard like anyone else's-and to perform his work honorably. To prove this point, he says in the story"you came to me for a ashave, and i perform my work honorably. So, he is saying that he came to him to shave like everybody else, and he must treat him the same as his customers, so he can di his job properly.
Moreover, I think that by choosing this decision, he saved more of his people of getting killed. since the barber didn't kill the executer, the executer won't kill any more rebels since the barber didn't kill him

I agree with what the barber did, because he did his job. The barber knew when to differenciate personal hatred from his work. When Torres was in his hands, he could have easily killed him, but he didn't because he knew that he had to do his job as always, even if the ememny is in his hand. This also saved his own life, because if he did kill Torres, he would end up dying for sure, but because he didn't, Torres went out alive. By doing so, Torres can tell others not to kill the barber, because the barber didn't kill him.

In my opinion I disagree with the barber's decision because it shows true cowardness. The fact that he chose not to kill Captain Torres shows how he lacks courage and how he fails to take the initiative. Because of this, he endangers other people's lives. He is supposedly a rebel but he can't sacrafice one life for the benefit of many other lives. He would much rather care about his reputation and what others would think of him, this also shows selfishness. I think that he didn't do anything to solve the problem, if anything he just added to it.

I think that the barber made the wrong decision by not killing Torres. being left alive means torres will continue to hunt and kill rebels, and execute them publicly. If the barber had of killed the rebel hunter who was his enemy, he would have ended up saving many of his fellow rebels lives. Without Torres, the rebel hunters would have been lost and unorganized, seeing how torres was theyre leader... without him the rebels would have had a much better chance of survival. The barber was a complete coward for not doing his duty as a rebel.

I disagree with the barber's decision because he endangering other peoples lives. By killing Torres he could have saved so many rebels lives, but instead he was too concerned about his own life. This shows that the barber is selfish and a coward, because he can't kill the man who is executing the other rebels, and will probably eventually kill him.

I personally think the barber made the wrong decision by not killing Torres. He has left a murderer to roam among society. If he had killed Captain Torres, his army would be unorganized and unable to follow commands. However, the barber would rather be considered an honourable barber than a murderer, which shows his selfishness. He'd rather make a decision that will benefit his life than to save the rest of the rebels. For example, he quotes that, " No one deserves to have someone else make the sacrifice of becoming a murderer . What do you gain by it? Nothing."

I think that the barber made the right decision by not killing Torres because the captain had come into the barber's shop for a shave and since the barber is a "conscientious barber, and is proud of the precision required of his profession" he would do anything to be a good barber. I also think that if the barber killed Torres it would not have made much of a difference except that there would be someone coming after him personally. Even if the captain had been killed, there would be a replacement, and the rebel killing would continue. If the barber had killed the captain when he was just sitting in the chair, not able to defend himself, I think the barber would have been a real coward because it was not a fair fight, and he knew Torres could not do anything about it.

I personally believe that the Barber made the right decision and he truly is a hero in my eyes. The cowardly thing to do in this situation would be to kill Torres on an unfair playing field meaning kill him without him knowing that you are out to get him. Rather if Barber would like to settle the affair like a real man he can call Torres out and fight fairly. If Barber wins a fair fight where each opponent knows their goal then Barber would be a true hero but in the circumstance that Barber was put in he did the heroic thing.

I agree witch the barber's decision because it was the noble thing to do. There is a clear distinction between right and wrong. It was right for the barber to spare Captain Torres' life and not pass judgement on him. He realized that a violent act would not have been the solution to their problem since he stated, "Others come along and still others, and the first ones kill the second ones, and they the next ones- and it goes on like this until everything is a sea of blood."

I personally agree with the actions that the barber had taken. In a way, the barber did not want to be known as a murderer like the Captain Torres. Captain torres killed many innocent people, and hunted rebels. The barber did not want to look like one of those rebel hunters. The barber also looked at his reputation as a barber, and he wanted to do his job as effectively and respectfully as possible. i also want to say that i compltely agree with the way that hi interpreted his view about how the barber was doing his job, and now the captain knows that he will not kill the barber since he has spared his life.

I disagree with the barbers decision. Captain Torres kills people in refugee camps and people from the barbers hometown and the barber knows this. The barber and the people being killed are all revolutionaries, they are all on the same side. Yet, when the captain comes to the barber to get shaved, instead of killing him and saving countless lives, the barber shaves him and lets him go. The captain even tells him that he is going to kill more of them that same day, but the barber doesn't do anything. He would rather keep his barber shop and his job, then save the lives of the people from his town. This shows how selfish and cowardly he is. Instead of sacrificing himself and his career for the greater good, to save more revolutionaries from being killed and tortured, he only thinks of himself and his career and how he will save his shop.

I agree with what the barber did. Though in many ways it was wrong, when it comes down to it the barber did the right thing. He said it so himself " Im a revolutionary, not a murderer". He did what he thought was the right thing. In the process he showed true courage. It takes a HERO in order to take the higher road and the path that is harder. In the story he had every opportunity to kill him, but instead he did what was harder and that is to put his hate aside and do what his job entitles him to do. You might call that a sign of cowardness but if you look at it from his perspective to do something harder rather than the easier way is always the right path.

Yes, i agree with the choice the barber made for many reasons. For example by not killing the killer because by killing he would sink down to the other mans level. Also, if he would have killed him then it would have just given the people more reasoning to murder the revolutionaries. He was definately a hero. He did what was right in his eyes and also when Torres leaves i believe he has a bit of respect for the barber because he can see that even when he is vulnerable he could be safe. Even heros have a tought job at what they do and the barber definately had a hard decision to make - kill or not kill. All in all, his decision was most definately the right one.

I agree with his decision. He didn't resort to violence when he had the chance to kill Captain Torres. He knew that violence never solves problems, it only continues. He would've been seen a coward to kill him when Torres was vulnerable. The barber had him on his chair and his gun was away from him. He had the chance to kill him with his knife, but he chose not to. He also did his job properly. As a barber, he only had to serve his customer. Although he was a rebel, he kept true to his job and did what he though was the best thing to do.

No, I disagree with the decision that the barner made. By not killing the Captian, he has put himself and all the other rebels in danger. He has pretty much put them to death because he was to much of a coward to save his people! If he had killed the capitan then the rest of the hunting group would be unorganzed and the rebels would have been safer longer. They could have even founf a plan to keep them safer for even longer with the time they would have had!

Unknown said...

No i dont agree with what the barber did. by not killing captain torres he has betrayed his fellow rebels and basically killed them. if he did kill the captain him and his rebel friends would be safe.

Unknown said...

I personally, disagree with the decision the barber made. Captain Torres had stated on page 50, that he would kill "All" the rebels, when the barber had asked if he would punish the rebels. By this piece of evidence alone, it shows how the barber is allowing the deaths of his people to happen. If he had killed the Captain, he would be saving many of the rebel's lives. In a way the barber is a murderer just like the Captain, but of his own people.

Unknown said...

yes i agree with the decision that the barber made because it was the right thing to do, in the sense that he is not a killer he is a barber. he made the right decision because in a sense he would have been provoking the captains soldiers to kill more rebles if he had killedthe captain so in a way he was protecting his friends and family.

Unknown said...

I agree with the decision the barber made, he really thought out all the outcomes. The barber was doing his job, and killing someone would haunt him forever. He did the right thing, for him, and the people around him.

Unknown said...

I think the barber made the right decision on not killing Captain Torres, because killing someone isn't the right way to take revenge. During the time that Torres was there, the barber had the time to think of every possible thing that could happen if he did. He's a hero because he reminded himself why he shouldn't, he's not a professional murderer but a professional barber. If he really wanted to kill him he didn't want Torres to be vulnerable in his hands, he rather to do it right. The barber did do the right thing because violence is never the answer.
