Welcome Bulldogs!

Welcome to our class blog! Yes, it is ours. As I said in class, we are a community – learning and growing together. This blog will allow us to extend our community to an e-space where we can discuss and engage in higher level thinking and improved writing. In a way, it is like bring our classroom home with us, onto our PEDs or into a Starbucks with our laptops. I am so excited to be able to begin this journey of e-learning with all of you. What is even more exciting is the travelling we will do as learners between our classroom discussions and the discussions that will occur in our Bulldog Blog.

This aspect to our class community is a much of a learning experience for you as it is for me. I have never created a blog before and I am confronted with nervousness, excitement and many moments of back-spacing my cursor as I write.

This blog is going to be a collage of research, my personal journaling of the experience, our class discussion and posts. With this will come vulnerability. I, as a writer and student, will be exposed to all of you. Yet, from my research I recognize that the blogging experience, if it is going to be useful and authentic, needs to expose its seams. It puts all of use as contributors in a vulnerable position in that our ideas are in a virtual classroom where our ideas are exposed to each other in a written form.

So, let’s put down our pens and start typing away. The experience is ours to embrace. The journey is ours to blog. And so begins our Bulldog Blog.
